With credit card portability, it is ideal for patients who experience transient symptoms suggestive of a cardiac arrhythmia. Such symptoms include shortness of breath, dizziness and palpitations.

At the onset of symptoms, the patient simply holds the HeartCard on the chest and presses the RECORD button. The HeartCard records and stores 30-seconds of the EKG in solid-state memory and can store up to three events before it is necessary to transmit the information.

When it's convenient, the patient can send the stored EKG by telephone, from anywhere in the world, directly to the toll-free FCM Receiving Center 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.

The HeartCard operates on a main battery for one year. A back-up battery is included to maintain the memory during battery changes.
